Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, and Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary, discussed yesterday the bilateral relationship and ways to enhance cooperation across various fields that contribute to the development of both nations. This includes economic, trade, and investment sectors, as well as technology, infrastructure, renewable energy, and other vital areas. This meeting took place during Sheikh Mohammed’s official visit to Hungary.
During their meeting at the Prime Minister’s office, the UAE President emphasized the UAE’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Hungary, which supports the sustainable development goals of both nations and promotes further progress and growth for their peoples.
He reaffirmed the UAE’s longstanding approach of fostering cooperative ties with countries worldwide and its dedication to building fruitful partnerships that are based on mutual interests.
Progress
Prime Minister Orban expressed his welcome towards Sheikh Mohammed’s visit, indicating that it represents a significant boost to the continuously evolving relationship between the two countries in various sectors of mutual interest.
During their discussion, both leaders also addressed several regional and international issues of common concern and exchanged their viewpoints on these matters.
They highlighted the importance of supporting international efforts to promote stability and peace at both regional and global levels, along with the necessity of addressing crises and conflicts through dialogue and diplomatic solutions.
Prime Minister Orban hosted a dinner in honor of Sheikh Mohammed and his accompanying delegation, attended by several senior officials from Hungary.
Sheikh Mohammed also visited the historic Hungarian Parliament building, accompanied by Prime Minister Orban and several delegation members.
During this visit, he admired the building’s outstanding architectural features, which serve as a cultural, historical, and tourist landmark, and received detailed explanations about its sections and significant contents from the relevant representatives.
Agreements
Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Orban witnessed the exchange of several agreements and memoranda of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation between the UAE and Hungary across various developmental sectors.
The exchanged agreements and memoranda included collaboration in data centers and artificial intelligence projects, green and renewable energy, food and agriculture, and exchanges of expertise in government work development, energy storage systems, and other sectors of mutual interest.
The signing ceremony at the Prime Minister’s office in Budapest featured UAE representatives including Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; and other ministers involved in relevant sectors.
These meetings also included Keidoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Executive Affairs Authority Chairman, and Mohamed Ali Al Abbar, Chairperson of Eagle Hills, among other senior officials.
Visit
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Budapest for an official visit yesterday.
Upon entering Hungarian airspace, military aircraft accompanied Sheikh Mohammed’s plane as a salute to his arrival.
The accompanying delegation included Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the President’s Private Office; and Sheikh Zayed bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with various high-ranking officials from the UAE government.
Key members of the delegation also included Ali bin Hamad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, and several ministers overseeing investment and trade sectors.
This extensive delegation highlighted the commitment of the UAE to strengthening its international relations and promoting beneficial collaboration in multiple areas.
