Emirates has enhanced its Emirates Courier Express offering by extending it to Australia, highlighting its dedication to reshaping the international delivery sector. This expansion follows the service’s initial launch a few months ago and aims to deliver an expedited, dependable, and adaptable logistics option for both enterprises and individual customers.
Deliveries through Emirates Courier Express will now reach four key cities in Australia: Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. With 70 passenger flights operating each week between these regions, the service provides excellent connections to both Europe and the Middle East. Emirates aspires to deliver one of the quickest door-to-door delivery services available. In collaboration with an integrated logistics provider for both first- and last-mile services, the solution will be available nationwide from the outset.
“From the initial testing phase of Emirates Courier Express, we recognized the importance of Australia as a major market,” stated Dennis Lister, senior vice president of product and innovation at Emirates SkyCargo. “With its logistics complexities and previous service shortcomings, businesses and consumers alike will benefit from our direct connections, frequent flight schedules, and adaptable solutions. Emirates has proudly operated in Australia for over 30 years, continually enhancing our offerings in cargo and passenger services. The Emirates Courier Express is a significant advancement in this journey, and we are excited to assist local companies and consumers with their cross-border shipping needs.”

Despite the rising consumer confidence in international online shopping, only 6% of global shoppers currently make purchases from Australian retailers. The International Trade Administration highlights logistics issues, including unpredictable pricing and lengthy delivery durations, as major barriers. In contrast, shipments arriving in Australia have surged by 45% over the last two years, with more households engaging in online shopping than ever before.
Addressing Issues
Emirates Courier Express is designed to tackle these logistical challenges. By utilizing Emirates’ extensive passenger network alongside SkyCargo’s logistical proficiency, the service circumvents the conventional hub-and-spoke distribution model. Shipments are routed directly via Dubai, resulting in reduced transit durations, minimized package handling, and quicker deliveries.
The service accommodates a diverse range of shipment types, including high-value items and sensitive goods such as medical supplies. It also provides a fully digital interface that can be seamlessly integrated with customers’ existing systems. Features like real-time tracking and automatic notifications grant businesses and their clients comprehensive visibility throughout the shipment process.
With this new launch in Australia, Emirates Courier Express is generating growth prospects for local enterprises and enhancing accessibility for international brands aiming to reach Australian consumers more effectively.
