Ajman: Community Programs and Activities that Foster Values of cooperation and Giving

The Emirate of Ajman is launching a series of innovative community programs and activities that engage a wide range of community members, aiming to strengthen the values of unity, cooperation, and generosity in line with the “Year of Community” initiative in the UAE.

One of the highlights is the “Our Summer Happiness” program, organized annually under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman. This initiative serves as a comprehensive platform that welcomes all family members. Over the course of a month, it offers a diverse array of activities designed for different community segments, promoting social bonding and investing in the skills and talents of youth during the summer.

The events will take place from July 14 to August 14 at eight varied summer centers managed by experienced national staff specializing in youth services. Among these are summer centers for boys and girls, a specialized science summer center, a cultural programs summer center, a center for individuals with disabilities, and a summer center for senior citizens.

Ahmed Al Raisi, the head of the organizing committee, stated that the summer program aims to instill positive traditions and values in young people, enhance their knowledge and abilities, and develop their skills through innovative programs and events that explore talents across various fields.

The Umm Al-Mu’minin Association in Ajman is dedicated to organizing community initiatives and events that promote the happiness of families and senior citizens, enhancing their quality of life. These initiatives comprise activities during religious and community celebrations, as well as family guidance forums engaging hundreds of local residents.

In line with national programs reflecting the government’s vision within the “Year of Community,” community councils are also emphasized. These councils host regular meetings that strengthen family and community ties. Currently, there are 15 community councils supported by the Citizens Affairs Office in Ajman, welcoming thousands from various community sectors, with plans to increase this number to 23 councils serving Ajman, Masfout, Muzayri’, and Al-Manama.

The community councils offer various specialized programs focused on family and child welfare, provide educational workshops and vocational courses aimed at women, and conduct training sessions in positive parenting and financial planning. They also implement youth and volunteer initiatives, as well as environmental and health awareness campaigns, fostering a culture of volunteerism among the youth, which has led to a rise in community engagement in recent years.
