Israeli Army Reports Death of Two Soldiers in Armored Vehicle Explosion in Gaza

Two Israeli soldiers were killed during clashes in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, as reported by the military on Sunday. This announcement follows the death of another soldier from injuries sustained the previous week.

The deceased soldiers, aged 20 and 22, were members of the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade. Israeli military sources indicated that they lost their lives when their armored vehicle was struck by a blast in Khan Younis, located in the south.

According to military reporters from various Israeli media outlets, the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device detonated by a militant emerging from a tunnel.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway, as per the military’s statement.

In a separate event on Sunday, the military stated that a reserve officer and a soldier were seriously injured during clashes in southern Gaza.

The Israeli military reported that a total of 462 soldiers have been killed since the commencement of ground operations in Gaza on November 27, 2023.

In retaliation, Israel has launched a devastating military campaign that has resulted in the deaths of 59,821 Palestinians in Gaza, the majority of whom are civilians, according to the latest figures released by Hamas-run health authorities, which the United Nations regards as reliable.
