The Death Toll Due to Starvation in Gaza Reaches 128 Individuals

Medical sources in Palestine reported today, Sunday, the death of a young girl due to starvation and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip, bringing the total number of child fatalities to 86.

The Palestinian News and Information Agency (Wafa) stated that sources from Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat confirmed that “10-year-old Nour Abu Salah lost her life due to starvation and malnutrition in Gaza.”

According to these sources, “the number of those who have died from starvation in Gaza has reached 128.”

The agency highlighted that cases of malnutrition and starvation are continuously arriving at hospitals in Gaza, where 900,000 children are facing hunger, with 70,000 of them having entered the stage of malnutrition.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) previously warned that malnutrition among children under five had doubled between March and June due to the ongoing Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip.

In another development, at least 38 Palestinians have been killed and others injured since the early hours of Sunday due to ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Gaza.

The Palestinian press agency (Safa) reported that among the deceased, 11 individuals were “killed by the occupation forces in the Sudaniya area in the northwest of the strip.”

Furthermore, “five citizens, most of whom were children and women, died when occupation aircraft targeted an apartment in the Al-Waleed Tower, damaging a bakery on the ground floor in the Al-Rimal neighborhood of western Gaza City.”

It was also mentioned that nine individuals “died,” and others were injured in an Israeli strike on Khan Younis.

Moreover, “five citizens were killed in an Israeli attack targeting a tent housing displaced persons in southern Deir al-Balah and Nitzarim in the center of the strip.”

Additionally, Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat reported the arrival of six deceased and 50 injured due to attacks by the occupation on civilians in a humanitarian aid point in the south of the Gaza Valley area in the central strip.
