25 UAE Aid Trucks Enter Gaza Strip

Twenty-five truckloads of aid from the UAE have entered the Gaza Strip via the Rafah border crossing, according to reports from Sky News Arabia.

This morning, the “Cairo News” channel reported that trucks carrying humanitarian supplies began moving from the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing towards Gaza, as part of ongoing efforts to alleviate the escalating humanitarian crisis.

It was noted by “Cairo News” that numerous trucks loaded with tons of food, medicine, and medical supplies are en route to the Karem Abu Salem crossing in preparation for their entry into the territory.

The Israeli military stated that operations would cease daily in the areas of the Mozayka and Deir al-Balah, as well as in the city of Gaza, from 10 AM (0700 GMT) until 8 PM local time (1700 GMT) until further notice.

Additionally, designated safe routes will remain operational from 6 AM until 11 PM.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry announced a “humanitarian ceasefire” starting Sunday morning to facilitate the distribution of aid in Gaza.

The ministry shared this information via a post on social media platform X late Saturday, indicating that the ceasefire would be effective in “civilian centers and humanitarian corridors” in Gaza.

Furthermore, the ministry remarked that while “Israel has continued to assist in allowing aid trucks into Gaza,” the United Nations “has so far failed to gather and distribute the substantial number of aid trucks stored in designated areas within Gaza.”

The Israeli Foreign Ministry asserted that the United Nations will now “collect and distribute large quantities of aid without any delays or further excuses.”

The UN has consistently refuted Israeli claims that the organization is obstructing food distribution.

UN spokesperson Farhan Haq stated on Thursday: “We are not attempting to prevent all these individuals, including our staff, from receiving food. They face various obstacles, including those imposed by Israeli authorities.”

Haq added that the multi-step approval process from the Israeli military has been exceedingly burdensome, with significant delays often resulting in goods only being able to depart at night.

On Saturday, the Israeli military announced that it had air-dropped humanitarian aid into Gaza, where thousands of residents are facing the threat of famine.

Earlier, the Israeli military had announced the establishment of “humanitarian corridors” to secure UN convoys delivering aid to Gaza’s population and had implemented a “ceasefire for humanitarian purposes” in densely populated areas.

In a Telegram post, the army shared that following directives from political leadership, its forces had recently carried out an air drop of humanitarian assistance as part of ongoing efforts to facilitate aid entry into Gaza. The air drop included seven packages containing flour, sugar, and canned food.
