The “Basin” bootcamp, a groundbreaking programming training initiative organized by the 42 Abu Dhabi Academy in partnership with the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, aims to empower talent and build national digital capabilities. The program offers a variety of specialized workshops and courses to help participants translate their technical skills and practical experiences into scalable entrepreneurial projects, thereby opening avenues for entrepreneurship across diverse sectors.
The inaugural session of the programming bootcamp features 130 participants, the majority of whom are Emirati citizens.
This initiative serves as a strategic milestone aimed at expanding professional and technical growth opportunities for residents of Al Ain by equipping them with essential digital and practical skills.
Participants who successfully complete the program may join the full-time Software Development diploma program at the academy.
Furthermore, Emirati entrepreneurs who finish the program will have the chance to benefit from the Khalifa Fund’s solutions to launch their projects.
The CEO of the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Moza Obaid Al Nuaimi, stated: “Our collaboration with the 42 Abu Dhabi Academy represents a significant step toward fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in Al Ain. The “Basin” program has provided participants with fundamental programming skills, enhancing their adaptability, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
Alya Al Masri remarked, “The program allows us to learn advanced digital skills through a hands-on learning model that emphasizes interaction among us as participants, regardless of our previous knowledge and experiences in programming.”
Fatima Al Balushi noted that she was eager to join the program, which enables participants from diverse backgrounds to build new skills, whether they aspire to acquire digital competencies or transition into careers in technology and other fields.
Omar Al Imrani emphasized that the program enhances participants’ digital experience, develops their social skills, and equips them to solve problems, opening up vast opportunities in the technology sector both locally and globally.
Methodology
Masoud Sultan Al Ali expressed, “My participation in the program reflects my desire to explore the world of programming, as well as my interest in the innovative learning methodologies at the academy and my goal of obtaining accredited certifications in the field, contributing to national progress.”
Ahmed Saber praised the interactive workshops within the program that aim to empower participants to translate their programming skills into startup ideas.
Survey
A recent survey conducted by the 42 Abu Dhabi Academy regarding the “Basin” program revealed a diverse range of educational and professional backgrounds among participants, with a noteworthy balance between male and female attendees. The findings showed that most participants were students, graduates, and job seekers. About 63.1% of the participants expressed a desire to establish entrepreneurial ventures, while 42% indicated an interest in starting a career in technology. Additionally, 35% of participants stated that they were motivated to develop their technical skills.
The “Basin Al Ain” program stands out for adopting the global 42 methodology, which focuses on project-based, collaborative, self-directed, and practical learning, without requiring any prior academic or technical background.
