Annually, researchers in Switzerland commemorate the Glacier Melting Day, marking the moment when the snow and ice accumulated over the winter months begins to melt.
Switzerland meticulously measures snow and ice cover every spring and autumn across approximately 20 out of the nearly 1,400 glaciers in the country, while monitoring between 10 and 15 of these glaciers during the summer months.
