The Palestinian Health Ministry announced today that a 24-year-old individual was shot dead by settlers in the West Bank.
According to the ministry’s statement, “The young man, Mueen Sobhi Mohammed Asfar, was killed by settler gunfire in the town of Askar near Nablus.”
As of now, there has been no official comment from the Israeli military regarding the incident.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that it provided assistance to seven individuals who sustained injuries during clashes with settlers in Askar.
Recent official Palestinian data indicates that since the escalation of conflict in Gaza began in October 2023, at least 1,012 Palestinians have lost their lives, approximately 7,000 have been injured, and over 18,000 have been detained by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
