Mohammed Bin Rashid: The Union Train Set to Launch Next Year, Aiming to Serve 36 Million Passengers by 2030

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, expressed his pride in the national projects during a journey from Dubai to Fujairah aboard the Union Railway. He highlighted the impactful work of the Union Railway team, headed by Sheikh Diab bin Mohammed bin Zayed, and emphasized the UAE’s commitment to ongoing infrastructure development.

Sheikh Mohammed stated that the railway will connect 11 cities and regions across the country, facilitating travel from Al Sila to Fujairah at a speed of 200 km/h. It is projected to transport 36 million passengers by 2030, with operations set to commence next year, God willing.

He shared on his official account on X: “During my trip from Dubai to Fujairah on the Union Railway… the train will link 11 cities and areas in the country from Al Sila to Fujairah… at a speed of 200 km/h. It will help transport 36 million passengers by 2030… and is expected to begin operations next year, God willing.”

He added, “I am proud of our national projects… proud of the Union Railway team led by Diab bin Mohammed bin Zayed… and proud of a nation that never stops working, adding a new building block to its future infrastructure every day.”
