The United Arab Emirates firmly rejects the false claims and accusations presented in a statement from the Port Sudan Authority, which wrongfully alleged the UAE’s involvement in the ongoing conflict in Sudan through supposed support for armed groups.
The UAE emphasized that these unsubstantiated allegations are nothing more than feeble media tactics intended to distract from the direct accountability of this authority in prolonging the civil war that has lasted over two years and undermining all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving peace in Sudan. International mechanisms, including a ruling from the International Court of Justice in The Hague that dismissed the claims made by this authority against the UAE, as well as the final report of the expert team on Sudan issued on April 17, 2025, found no evidence or conclusions against the UAE. These documented facts highlight the baselessness of the repeated claims and the absence of any legal or factual foundation for them.
The UAE reiterated that the so-called Port Sudan Authority does not represent the legitimate government of Sudan or reflect the will of its esteemed people, urging the international community to intensify efforts to support a civilian-led political process, free from the dominance of either warring faction.
The UAE stressed that these allegations are merely attempts to obstruct the peace process and evade ethical, legal, and humanitarian obligations to end the conflict, paving the way for a transitional process that reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security, stability, and development.
Additionally, the UAE reaffirmed its full commitment to supporting all international and regional efforts aimed at an immediate ceasefire, protecting civilians, holding perpetrators of atrocities accountable, and collaborating with partners to find a comprehensive and sustainable solution to end this devastating war, ensuring a safe and stable future for Sudan and its people.
