Ahmad Al-Shamsi, a consultant in the inspection and compliance sector of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, emphasized the importance of community members adhering to the necessary requirements to verify the legitimacy of recruitment agencies promoting their services through social media.
He noted that the ministry has enabled the public to verify licensed entities through various channels to confirm the authenticity of such advertisements. This includes a continuously updated list of authorized recruitment agencies available nationwide, which can be accessed on the official ministry website (www.mohre.gov.ae), as well as via the ministry’s contact center at 600590000.
In a radio interview, Al-Shamsi mentioned that engaging with unlicensed entities poses a serious risk to individuals, potentially leading to the loss of legal rights such as the guarantees provided by licensed offices. Additionally, there are social and health risks associated with not ensuring that the recruited workers are in good health and free from communicable diseases or legal issues, including the possibility of prior convictions.
Accuracy
He stressed the importance of exercising caution when responding to advertisements posted on social media, clarifying that while the ministry does not oppose electronic promotion by licensed entities, it warns against dealing with any untrusted accounts or organizations.
Individuals are encouraged to take the initiative to verify the credibility of a service provider before any financial or contractual engagement. He highlighted that the ministry has specialized teams that have successfully coordinated with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority this year to identify and shut down accounts on social media that were found to be engaging in the recruitment of workers without the required licenses.
This initiative reflects the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation’s ongoing efforts to regulate and organize the domestic labor services sector in accordance with applicable legislation and ministerial decisions, ensuring the provision of high-quality services to both national and resident families while protecting the rights of all parties involved in the contractual relationship.
