The Sharjah FDI Office, known as Invest in Sharjah, has teamed up with Transworld Business Advisors to introduce Sharjah AcquireHub, the first digital platform initiated by the government in the region aimed at simplifying mergers and acquisitions (M&A) within the emirate.
Focusing specifically on M&A activities, this platform is open to investors from local, regional, and international backgrounds. It offers comprehensive support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs, and corporations in Sharjah that are looking to grow, shift strategies, or achieve strategic exits.
This initiative comes at a time when M&A activities are picking up speed both globally and in the region. According to Bain & Company, global M&A transactions reached a staggering $3.5 trillion in 2024, while EY reported that there were 701 regional deals valued at $92.3 billion last year.
Sharjah AcquireHub links investors with promising opportunities and increases market fluidity within a secure digital framework. It provides an easy online registration process, customized advisory services, and support following transactions, all of which are safeguarded by confidentiality measures such as non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and thorough due diligence procedures.
“This platform strengthens Sharjah’s position as a center for intelligent investment and M&A within the SME arena,” stated H.E. Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah. “Through this alliance, we are creating new avenues for both domestic and international investors, aligning with Sharjah’s strategic development goals.”
The platform’s launch follows a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Invest in Sharjah and Transworld UAE, which was signed in the presence of H.E. Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq. Under this partnership, Transworld will offer workshops on M&A readiness, facilitate international matchmaking initiatives, and conduct targeted global promotional events to highlight acquisition opportunities in Sharjah.
Ahmed Ibrahim, CEO of Transworld UAE, expressed confidence in the platform’s potential to positively influence the investment landscape and open up new growth avenues. “Strategic collaborations and embracing digital transformation are crucial for the forthcoming phase of economic progress,” he added.
Transworld Business Advisors is a well-respected authority in M&A consulting, having successfully completed more than 2,500 transactions in 2024, and operates in 27 countries with a network of over 1,000 deal-makers.
In Sharjah, the SME sector constitutes over 94% of the overall business landscape in the UAE. In 2024, the emirate issued more than 71,000 new and renewed business licenses, reflecting a 7% increase compared to the previous year.
With a strong focus on facilitating exits, growth, and capital redeployment, Sharjah AcquireHub is a timely enhancement to the region’s digital ecosystem. It aligns investor objectives with Sharjah’s diversification strategy, further solidifying the emirate’s role as a key entry point to the M&A market.
