The local emergency management team in Sharjah has confirmed that they have successfully contained a fire that broke out a couple of nights ago in a clothing warehouse located in Hamriyah Free Zone, with no reported injuries.
Brigadier General Omar Al Ghazal, the Director General of the General Operations and Security Support Department and Chairman of the Emergency Management Team in Sharjah, stated that specialized teams handled the incident with exceptional field efficiency and professionalism. Their comprehensive response plan was aimed at controlling the fire and securing the surrounding area, which significantly helped in containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to nearby locations, thus minimizing potential damages.
Moreover, Brigadier General Said Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General of the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority and a member of the executive committee, noted that the civil defense teams managed to control the fire within a record time, highlighting the high level of readiness and effective coordination among the involved field agencies to ensure the protection of lives and property and maintain public safety.
He added that the concerned teams are currently carrying out cooling operations to ensure the site is safe and to prevent any fire resurgence, while the relevant authorities have begun investigations to determine the cause of the fire.
The team appreciated the efforts and collaboration of the on-ground teams involved in responding to the incident, including the Dubai Civil Defense General Command, the civil defense administrations of Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, and Fujairah, as well as the Sharjah Municipality, Hamriyah Municipality, Hamriyah Free Zone, and Al Marwan Company.
