The Crown Prince of Jordan, Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, announced yesterday the imminent reactivation of the mandatory military service program.
During a meeting in Irbid Governorate, he emphasized that the purpose of the program is to prepare the youth to serve and defend their country. He noted that this initiative would strengthen national identity, reinforce the connection between young people and their land, and contribute to character building and discipline.
He also mentioned that he had directed the government some time ago to collaborate with partners in order to develop the program according to a clear timetable, ensuring it undergoes a series of procedures before details are made public.
The specifics of the new service program will be unveiled at a joint press conference involving the Jordanian military and the government.
