The Crown Prince of Jordan, Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, announced the imminent reactivation of the National Service Program during a meeting with youth from Irbid Governorate on Sunday.
During the discussion, Prince Hussein emphasized the necessity of preparing young individuals to be ready to serve and defend their country, noting that those who participate in the National Service Program recognize the significance of this experience.
He highlighted the program’s role in reinforcing national identity and connecting young people to their homeland, mentioning that serving alongside the brave members of the Jordanian Armed Forces enhances character and discipline.
Moreover, he revealed that he had instructed the government to collaborate with partners to enhance the National Service Program, which will undergo a series of procedures according to a clear timeline, with further details to be announced.
The meeting, held in the King Abdullah II Gardens in Irbid, also covered topics pertinent to youth that the Crown Prince closely follows, including information technology, the development of entrepreneurial and volunteer projects, as well as vocational and technical education and training.
Attendees praised the Crown Prince’s initiative to revive the National Service Program, asserting its importance in instilling active citizenship values in the youth and helping to shape their personalities while strengthening their national identity.
They also appreciated his focus on vocational and technical training, highlighting its significance in empowering youth and enhancing their skills for the labor market.
