Seven Million Students Kick Off the New Academic Year

The 2025-2026 academic year commenced today across various schools in the United Arab Emirates, welcoming over a million students in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm. Educational institutions prepared special welcoming activities to greet the students, coinciding with the Ministry of Education’s national campaign titled “From Skill to Excellence,” aimed at enhancing students’ innovation and leadership skills through active participation from parents.

This new academic year welcomed more than 25,000 new students into public schools, with nine new schools opening their doors to students across different emirates. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to keeping pace with the growing student population and providing a comprehensive educational environment.

Warm Reception

At the Zayed Educational Complex in Al Siyouh, which accommodates over 2,230 students, Principal Saeedah Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi made a concerted effort to welcome students with smiles and warm greetings. The phased return plan was implemented, starting with students in grades one and two, along with second-tier kindergarten students, while Wednesday and Thursday were designated for a gradual introduction of students in the early childhood program.

Parental Involvement

The first day saw a notable turnout of parents accompanying their children, providing psychological support and stability. School administrations emphasized that the presence of families instills confidence in students and reinforces the partnership between home and school right from the start of the academic year.

“My Family Inspires Me”

As part of the “From Skill to Excellence” initiative, schools launched the “My Family Inspires Me” program, which emphasizes the role of parents in academically and socially supporting their children. This program allows for broader collaboration between families and schools, fostering a well-rounded educational environment that contributes to students’ skill development and capacity building.
