A curious bear entered an ice cream shop in California over the weekend, but was safely escorted out by officers. The hefty animal appeared quite at ease when police deputies arrived to address the situation at the tourist town of South Lake Tahoe on Sunday morning. The officers managed to remove the bear from the establishment, but not before snapping a few memorable photos of the unusual encounter.
According to a post on the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page: “After some encouragement, the bear eventually left but not before showing interest in the strawberry-flavored ice cream.”
Fortunately, the bear, named “Fuzzy,” caused minimal damage to the property, and there was little clean-up required. Bears are common in California and often seek food in human-populated areas, which may include entering homes or vehicles.
