Senator Mark Warner has announced that the head of the Pentagon’s intelligence agency has been dismissed, describing this action on Friday as the latest instance of the politicization of intelligence under President Donald Trump’s administration.
Warner, who serves as the Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, stated, “The ousting of yet another senior national security official highlights the dangerous pattern of the Trump administration treating intelligence as a test of loyalty instead of a safeguard for our country.”
As of now, there has been no comment from Jeffrey Kross, the official leading the Pentagon’s intelligence agency.
According to the Associated Press, the dismissed official was overseeing the agency that produced a report on the damage to Iranian nuclear sites, a report that reportedly angered President Trump.
