UAE Rescue Team Concludes Forest Fire Support in Albania

The Emirati rescue team has wrapped up its mission assisting in extinguishing forest fires in Albania after spending several weeks on the ground. The team was equipped with skilled personnel, aircraft, and essential firefighting materials.

According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Mohammed Al Sharif, the team conducted a total of 700 water drop operations, which amounted to approximately 1,300 tons of water and firefighting substances over 28 air sorties.

He emphasized that the remarkable contributions of the team to humanitarian and relief operations highlight the strong bilateral relations between the two nations and the UAE’s leadership role in international humanitarian efforts.

Mission Details

The team began its operations on August 12 in affected areas, including the forests of Gramsh, Balsh, and the coastal region of Vlora, following directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE.

The Albanian government honored the efforts of the participating rescue teams, including the Emirati group, in a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama and high-ranking military officials.

Albania expressed gratitude for the contributions of national forces and volunteers in enhancing security and addressing natural disasters and humanitarian crises.

The nation thanked all participants in the operations, underscoring the importance of ongoing collaboration between national forces and international partners to strengthen Albania’s capacity to tackle future challenges.
