The Executive Council of Sharjah held its regular meeting yesterday, presided over by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, along with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, at the office of the Ruler.

During this session, various topics concerning government performance were addressed, including significant strategic plans for governmental bodies, aimed at achieving institutional excellence and enhancing the services offered to the citizens and residents of Sharjah.

The Council made a decision to transfer Sheikh Saif bin Muhammad bin Saif Al Qasimi, the Director of the Prevention and Safety Authority, to the Authority for Labor Standards Development, where he will take on the role of Director.

The Council reviewed a presentation on the results of the service package for organizing condolences for bereaved families. This initiative provides facilities such as mourning tents and reserved gathering places, alongside hospitality services and guidance signs, with the aim of easing the burden on those who have lost loved ones by offering suitable locations for holding condolences.

Additionally, the Council examined the third phase report of the Sharjah Private Education Authority Strategy for 2025-2028, which included statistics about the private education sector. The report indicated that the teaching staff in this sector exceeds 12,000 educators.

Furthermore, the report highlighted that over 201,000 students are enrolled in private schools, governmental and private nurseries, and training centers across the Emirate of Sharjah.

The outcomes of the second strategic phase for 2022-2024 were also discussed, noting an 80% increase in the performance of schools classified as ‘very good’ and a rise in the localization of teaching staff in private schools. The parents’ trust in the education system in the emirate reached an impressive 93%.

Lastly, the report touched upon the efforts of the authority in training and developing teachers’ competencies, as well as statistics regarding schools and nurseries, alongside performance indicators for the new strategic phase and digital service metrics.
