Under The Guidance Of The Head Of State, The UAE Opens An Islamic Academy In Kyrgyzstan

In alignment with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, the Islamic Academy was inaugurated yesterday in the city of Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan, in the presence of Sadyr Japarov, the President of Kyrgyzstan. This initiative aims to enhance higher education and spread noble Islamic values, fostering intellectual dialogue, cultural exchange, and human tolerance.

The opening of the academy is part of the UAE’s leading humanitarian and developmental initiatives across various sectors, including education, health, environment, and infrastructure. These efforts are being closely monitored by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Court.

Oversight has also been provided by His Highness Sheikh Diab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Court for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, who also chairs the International Humanitarian Affairs Council and the board of the Zayed Humanitarian Foundation.

The inauguration saw participation from Mahna Obaid Al Muhairi, the Deputy Director-General of the Zayed Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works, and Dr. Khalid Salem Al Ibhauni Al Dhaheri, the Secretary-General of the Office for Civilization and Human Values Enhancement, along with several officials from both friendly nations. The cost of constructing this exceptional educational project exceeded $5 million (more than 18 million dirhams).

During the event, the President of Kyrgyzstan praised the strong bilateral relations between the two nations, expressing gratitude to the UAE – its leadership, government, and people – and appreciating the remarkable humanitarian initiatives and development projects being implemented in collaboration with his country across vital sectors.

He specifically highlighted the significance of higher education and the UAE’s leadership role in achieving sustainable development goals, which is considered a shared international responsibility. Additionally, he recognized the Islamic Academy’s importance in providing ongoing educational opportunities for thousands of Kyrgyz youth.

In response, Mahna Al Muhairi affirmed the UAE’s humanitarian mission aimed at uplifting communities worldwide, adhering to the enduring humanistic principles of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the wise leadership’s directives concerning collaboration with various countries and communities in need for the betterment and prosperity of humanity.

Al Muhairi emphasized the central role of the academy as a beacon for disseminating knowledge aligned with authentic Islamic principles, striving to develop generations capable of engaging positively with contemporary challenges while upholding the core tenets of the faith and a strong moral framework.

The establishment of the Islamic Academy is part of the Zayed Foundation’s initiative to build schools and universities and offer scholarships, in line with the UAE’s inspiring humanitarian and developmental vision.

The academy, located in Tokmok, approximately 60 kilometers from Kyrgyzstan’s capital, features 10 multifunctional classrooms and offers academic programs for both bachelor’s and postgraduate degrees. Additionally, it provides vocational training and continuing education for both academy staff and the wider community, including civil society organizations.

Over the coming years, the academy is expected to gain a prominent standing due to its educational programs, competitive capabilities, and anticipated contributions to research and community initiatives.
