Dubai Introduces Its Inaugural Sand Equestrian Track in Hatta to Enhance Tourism

Dubai Municipality has introduced Hatta’s inaugural sand equestrian track, providing horse riders with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the breathtaking mountainous scenery of the region. The initial phase of this initiative spans 2.54 kilometers in length and measures three meters in width, crafted to ensure a secure, adventurous, and high-quality riding experience for both equestrian enthusiasts, novices, and tourists.

Designed to bolster Hatta’s reputation as a leading tourism and leisure hub, the new track is part of the Supreme Committee’s efforts to oversee Hatta’s development. This project is in line with the overarching regional development agenda and supports Dubai’s ambitions to boost tourism, trade, and the economy, while also enhancing recreational and sports infrastructures of international standards.

Economic potential

In addition to its recreational value, the track is projected to drive new investments and foster the growth of small to medium enterprises across various sectors such as equestrian sports, hospitality, retail, and tourism. By enticing visitors seeking authentic and adventurous experiences, this initiative aims to stimulate Hatta’s local economy and support the goals of its community residents.

A haven for equestrian enthusiasts

Bader Anwahi, the CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, remarked: “The sand equestrian track in Hatta has been created in accordance with international standards, offering horse riders a secure and unique way to explore the region’s stunning mountainous environment. We strive to position Hatta as a favored destination for equestrian fans in Dubai while honoring the tradition of horsemanship, which reflects Emirati identity and heritage. Additionally, this track opens up new economic avenues that will benefit the local populace and further enhance Hatta’s standing as one of the UAE’s most picturesque and promising tourism spots.”

An unmatched adventure

The trail is designed for both novice and experienced riders, providing a safe and pleasurable environment to experience horseback riding amidst panoramic mountain vistas. Visitors have the option to ride rented horses or bring their own while traversing the natural landscape.

Constructed to adhere to the highest international safety and quality benchmarks, the sand equestrian track represents a significant achievement in Dubai Municipality’s objective to expand leisure offerings, improve quality of life, and establish Dubai as a premier global destination for tourism, recreation, and lifestyle excellence.
