Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government Unveils “Future Leaders” and “Empowering Young Leaders” Programs

The Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, represented by the office of the Minister of Defense, has launched the second cohort of the “Future Leaders Diploma” program and the inaugural “Empowering Young Leaders Diploma” specifically designed for ministry members. This initiative reflects a strategic partnership aimed at nurturing a new generation of national leaders equipped to drive development and institutional transformation.

This effort underlines the institution’s role as a leading regional center for enhancing government capabilities, aligned with the UAE’s ambitious vision for excellence and leadership.

These two programs highlight the synergy between educational institutions and government entities in investing in human resources. They aim to provide current and emerging leaders with the knowledge and tools necessary to formulate innovative initiatives and policies that will prepare the nation for future challenges and enhance its competitive edge both regionally and internationally.

Khalifa Rashid Al Hamli, Director of the Minister of Defense’s office, stated, “The Ministry of Defense places the utmost importance on developing the capabilities of its personnel and preparing them for future leadership roles. The launch of the ‘Future Leaders’ and ‘Young Leaders Empowerment’ programs will equip participants with practical tools to enhance their leadership skills.

These programs will enable them to make strategic decisions effectively and manage teams efficiently. We anticipate that these initiatives will directly contribute to increasing the ministry’s readiness and its resilience in facing future challenges.”

Dr. Ali Bin Sebaa Al Marri, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, commented, “These programs represent a strategic step in enhancing government capabilities.

They allow current and emerging leaders to acquire the necessary knowledge and tools for managing change and fostering institutional innovation, addressing the rapid changes within the government sector and serving the nation’s goals of establishing a sustainable community and competitive knowledge-based economy.”

He added that “the partnership with the Ministry of Defense reflects the commitment of both parties to implement a hands-on and interactive educational model that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experiences, empowering participants to make effective strategic decisions.

This will help them lead teams efficiently and contribute to crafting innovative initiatives and policies that support the development and transformation of institutions, thereby reinforcing the UAE’s position as a leading center for leadership and policymaking at both regional and international levels.”

Aisha Al Shamsi, Director of Executive Education at the school, noted, “The design and implementation of the ‘Future Leaders’ and ‘Young Leaders Empowerment’ programs resulted from an in-depth study of the leadership needs within the Ministry of Defense, in accordance with the future requirements for government work in the UAE.

We believe that executive education goes beyond knowledge transfer; it is a comprehensive development process focused on building leadership skills and strategic thinking, empowering participants to make a real impact in their work environments.”

The “Future Leaders Diploma” – second cohort follows the success of the first cohort, with the objective of preparing leaders capable of engaging in strategic thinking and future foresight, aligning initiatives with national goals. The program consists of 130 training hours, combining in-person, virtual, and self-directed learning.

The curriculum covers eight key areas: transformational leadership, future foresight and decision-making, change management and digital transformation, strategic thinking and performance management, public perception and institutional identity, institutional innovation, leadership influence and effective communication, and institutional excellence.
