This summit aims to enhance Dubai’s role as a global bridge connecting climate aspirations with economic opportunities, exemplifying how challenges can be transformed into avenues for growth and prosperity.

As one of the premier global platforms, the summit will convene decision-makers, thought leaders, and technology pioneers to expedite climate action and turn global ambitions into actionable programs with tangible outcomes. Scheduled for October 1-2, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the event is themed “Impactful Innovation: Accelerating the Future of the Green Economy.”

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and President of the Global Organization for the Green Economy, stated:

“Guided by the vision and directives of our leadership, Dubai continues its mission to construct a more sustainable future through the Global Summit on the Green Economy. This summit has become a prestigious international platform where policymakers, experts, and innovators from around the globe exchange insights and launch pioneering initiatives and partnerships. Since its inception, the summit has contributed to shaping practical solutions that support the green transition both regionally and globally, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a beacon of sustainability and a center for constructive dialogue and collaboration.”

The summit, organized by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and the Global Organization for the Green Economy, showcases Dubai’s status as a leading global platform for hosting significant international events.

Innovation drives the green economy, placing technology and innovation at the forefront of discussions. This includes exploring the roles of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and advanced digital solutions in promoting sustainability and climate resilience.

The section on clean and renewable energy will highlight innovative solutions aimed at meeting the growing demand sustainably, emphasizing the critical role of renewable energy in providing reliable, round-the-clock supply, and the benefits of accelerating the development of a hydrogen economy as a clean future fuel.

The focus on policies and regulations will address dynamic shifts in climate policies and their impacts on national and regional economies, particularly in light of the complex balance between priorities such as energy security, industrial policy, and global competitiveness.

The financing aspect will shed light on the challenges faced in expanding the use of renewable energy and the financial solutions that ensure the continuity of green growth, including sustainable financing tools and voluntary carbon markets. Sessions will explore new strategies for mobilizing private sector investments in alignment with international climate commitments, alongside the role of global financial institutions and development funds in bridging investment gaps.

The concept of climate justice emerges as a crucial human dimension in the journey towards a green economy, where sustainability cannot be separated from the responsibility to ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities for all communities.

The discussion on adaptation and climate resilience will focus on practical strategies to manage losses and damages caused by extreme weather phenomena, as well as developing nature-based solutions such as ecosystem restoration, increasing green spaces, and coastal protection.

Additionally, the importance of early warning systems in risk reduction and the role of scientific innovations in building resilient communities amid crises will be examined.

The sessions will highlight the growing role of youth in driving innovative solutions through technology, entrepreneurship, and voluntary environmental initiatives, showcasing their ability to transform ideas into impactful projects that facilitate the transition to a green economy.
