Dubai Municipality Academy Enhances Skills of Fresh Graduates

Raihan Al-Hammadi, the Director of Talent Development at Dubai Municipality, emphasized that recent graduates are presented with a unique opportunity to join the “Pioneers” program at the Dubai Municipality Academy. This initiative allows them to gain scientific knowledge in various technical and professional fields through an intensive internship lasting between three to six months, during which participants receive a monthly incentive.

She noted that the training encompasses both theoretical and practical aspects, enriching their professional experience by providing them with exposure to real work environments. The program is designed to equip local trainees with essential skills, capabilities, and knowledge.

It offers them the chance to engage in hands-on field experiences, develop interpersonal skills within a team setting, and strengthen core organizational values such as competitiveness, proactivity, positivity, and participation. Upon completion, graduates receive a certified qualification that will help them advance confidently in their professional journeys toward a prosperous future.

This initiative aligns with Dubai Municipality’s vision of supporting and empowering youth to enter the job market with high-level skills. The program represents a significant leap that enhances graduates’ prospects for success and advancement in their careers. Furthermore, Dubai Municipality provides annual training for approximately 12,000 employees.

Of these, around 4,000 receive training at the Dubai Municipality Academy, focusing on the latest technologies and technical skills. The training covers various areas, including data analysis, information security, artificial intelligence, geographic information systems, and advanced food inspection technologies using virtual reality. Additionally, over 7,000 operational and support staff undergo practical training that enables them to apply their acquired knowledge and gain real-world experience. These training programs aim to boost efficiency and improve performance within the organization, reflecting Dubai Municipality’s commitment to enhancing its employees’ skills in line with global technological advancements.

Career Guidance

Al-Hammadi also pointed out that Dubai Municipality has launched the “Career Lounge” initiative through its academy, aimed at providing career guidance for university and school students. This initiative seeks to familiarize them with future job opportunities in the municipality sectors and highlight their crucial role in the community through professional advisors at the municipality.

She highlighted that the initiative serves as an interactive platform that connects students with the government work environment, attracting promising national talents and raising awareness among youth about their contributions to sustainable development and fostering a culture of creativity and social responsibility.

In addition, Al-Hammadi mentioned that the Dubai Municipality Academy has received official accreditation from a global organization as a silver-level training provider, positioning it among the leading institutions in offering internationally recognized training programs in occupational safety and health within the region.
