ADQ, a sovereign investment entity from the UAE concentrating on vital infrastructure and global supply chains, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Azerbaijan Investment Holding (AIH) to explore potential collaborations aimed at achieving shared development goals.
According to the agreement, both parties will investigate opportunities within the financial services domain, specifically focusing on initiatives that improve market connectivity and enhance the investment environment to foster sustainable growth.
This partnership builds upon a joint investment platform initiated in December 2023, where ADQ and AIH each committed capital to various projects in sectors such as agriculture, technology, pharmaceuticals, and energy infrastructure in Azerbaijan, the UAE, and Central Asia, with possible expansion into additional markets.

Founded in 2020, AIH is responsible for managing and enhancing state-owned enterprises, supporting Azerbaijan’s economic modernization through improved governance, increased efficiency, and strategic investment.
Trade and investment relations between the UAE and Azerbaijan are on the rise, with non-oil trade experiencing a 43% year-on-year increase, reaching $2.4 billion in 2024. The UAE has invested over $1 billion in Azerbaijan, underscoring a bilateral relationship that has remained strong since 1992.
