The United States has pledged to provide security guarantees to Qatar following an Israeli attack targeting Hamas leaders in September, as outlined in a presidential decree released by the White House.
The decree, signed by Donald Trump on Monday, states that “it is the policy of the United States to ensure the security of the State of Qatar and the integrity of its territory against any external attack.”
Furthermore, the executive order specifies that the United States will view any armed assault on Qatar’s territory, sovereignty, or critical infrastructure as a threat to the peace and security of the United States.
