Tokinvest Obtains VARA’s Initial Multi-Asset Issuance License, Securing $3.2 Million

Tokinvest, a regulated platform specializing in the tokenisation of real-world assets (RWA), has received the first comprehensive multi-asset issuance license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). The company has also successfully sold its first tokenized racehorse and completed a pre-seed funding round, raising $3.2 million.

This license positions Tokinvest among the select few global platforms authorized to manage and distribute tokenized real-world assets in compliance with a full regulatory framework, according to the company’s announcement.

Its inaugural project involved the fractional sale of a high-profile racehorse in collaboration with Evolution Stables, marking a unique achievement in the realm of sports assets.

The token was created using the Polygon blockchain, a protocol that currently secures over $1.1 billion in locked RWA value.

Plans for Tokenized Real Estate

Tokinvest has expressed intentions to venture into the tokenized real estate market, with a waitlist available for those seeking early access before the public launch. Additionally, other asset types such as commodities, funds, and bonds are in the regulatory pipeline.

“Our mission is to simplify the process of investing in real-world assets, making it as straightforward as purchasing stocks,” stated Scott Thiel, CEO and co-founder of Tokinvest. “Obtaining one of the inaugural full issuance licenses from VARA, successfully closing our pre-seed round, and selling our first tokenized asset highlights the significant market interest and the confidence investors have in Tokinvest.”

Thiel highlighted that investors from three different countries participated in the racehorse token sale, which underscores Dubai’s status as a central hub for regulated asset development and international investments.

Alex Baddeley, CEO of Evolution Stables, remarked that the collaboration represented a transformative move, demonstrating how technology could generate investment opportunities driven by passion.

Aishwary Gupta, head of Payments and RWA at Polygon, noted that the launch exemplified how regulated platforms can make premium assets accessible to investors worldwide on a large scale.

Tokinvest’s pre-seed funding round of $3.2 million was supported by various venture capitalists, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals, including Triliv Holdings and Exponential Science.

“As an investor and a judge on The Final Pitch, I witness many innovative projects emerging from Dubai,” shared Jigar Sagar, founder of Triliv Holdings. “Tokinvest distinguishes itself by incorporating regulation, trust, and accessibility into the tokenisation of real-world assets.”
