Dubai’s Legal Affairs Explores Initiatives and Services Tailored for People of Determination

The Legal Affairs Department of the Government of Dubai is participating in the International Expo for People of Determination.

Dr. Louay Mohammed Balhol, the Director General of the department, highlighted the significance of engaging in this global event, which showcases numerous innovative practices aimed at serving individuals with disabilities. This presents an opportunity for the department to learn about successful initiatives that enhance its efforts to launch more programs supporting the national objectives for empowering people of determination.

Dr. Balhol further explained that the department has established a specialized policy regarding individuals with disabilities, covering both its employees and clients from the community. This approach ensures the creation of a supportive and accommodating environment.

It includes providing suitable communication channels, facilitating access to facilities, services, and information offered by the department, while taking into consideration their diverse needs. Additionally, the department has initiated awareness and training programs aimed at equipping customer service staff with the skills required to assist clients with disabilities.

He noted that as part of its participation in the expo, the department will showcase several initiatives and services, including a visual guide featuring key legal terms in sign language available on its website.

Moreover, the department will provide insights on how to benefit from pro bono legal services. On the sidelines of the expo, it will conduct an informative workshop aimed at clients and the general public, focused on national efforts to employ artificial intelligence in supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities and promoting their active integration into society.
