The largest global technology and artificial intelligence event, GITEX GLOBAL 2025, commenced in Dubai on Monday for its 45th iteration, gathering an unprecedented crowd of over 6,800 exhibitors, 2,000 startups, 1,200 investors, and representatives from more than 180 nations.
This event, taking place from October 13 to 17 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, signifies a significant milestone in the event’s four-decade history, uniting policymakers, tech pioneers, and investors to explore the evolution of AI-powered economies and next-gen enterprise technologies.
During the opening ceremony, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE’s Minister of Economy and Tourism, stated: “The UAE, backed by its visionary leadership, is not just competing in the global innovation arena; it is defining its path and establishing a robust economic model based on resilience, future orientation, knowledge, and advanced technology. This solidifies the nation’s standing at the forefront of the global economy.”
Discussions and Innovations Presented at GITEX GLOBAL 2025
The panels throughout the day concentrated on the geopolitical and economic implications of AI, deep-tech ecosystems, and innovations from startups.
Ekaterina Zaharieva, the Commissioner for Startups, Research, and Innovation at the European Commission, remarked: “The EU and the UAE share a mutual vision for fostering innovation that benefits our citizens. We acknowledge the critical role of startups and scaleups in our economies. This journey together initiates at GITEX 2025.”
Canada’s Minister for AI and Digital Innovation, Evan Solomon, remarked: “GITEX exemplifies an unprecedented speed of entrepreneurial growth – we must uphold our values while collaborating. It’s a pleasure to engage with people and companies, deepening our significant partnership with the UAE as we aim to shift AI into a trustworthy technology designed for everyone.”
Andrew Feldman, CEO of Cerebras, a company that collaborated with G42 to create the world’s largest AI supercomputer, stated: “We developed the largest chip in computing history, roughly the size of a dinner plate. By increasing the chip size, we were able to store more information directly on it and reduce movement. This approach lessened power consumption and sped up result delivery.”
On the exhibition floor, leading global companies showcased innovative technologies of the future.
- e& presented over 90 innovations covering robotics, mobility, digital healthcare, and consumer technologies, including eVTOL prototypes and autonomous air taxis.
- Oracle introduced new agentic AI solutions for finance and supply chain management, alongside cloud applications driven by data from Oracle Red Bull Racing.
- BlackBerry launched a new critical communications platform, claiming it to be the only technology sanctioned by various governments worldwide for secure classified communications.
