Trump: Modi Promised That India Will Halt Purchases of Russian Oil

On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured him that India will cease its purchases of Russian oil. This announcement comes several months after the U.S. leader imposed punitive tariffs on such purchases.

Trump informed reporters that Modi “confirmed to me that no oil will be purchased from Russia.
