Global Food Week Kicks Off on the 21st with 2,070 Companies from 75 Nations Participating

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, the Global Food Week is set to take place from October 21 to 23 at the Adnec Center in Abu Dhabi, featuring extensive local and international participation.

Ahmad Shakir, CEO of Capital 360 and Capital Events, both part of the Adnec Group, stated: “Hosting this event aligns with Adnec Group’s strategy to develop events that support national initiatives and plans, including the promotion of agricultural sustainability, the application of the best technological innovations, and quality investments.”

He further noted that this edition of Global Food Week is experiencing record growth across all performance indicators, with exhibition space increasing by 15% to 33,542 square meters compared to the previous edition. Additionally, the number of exhibiting companies and brands has risen by 9%, totaling 2,070 exhibitors compared to last year.

Shakir emphasized that the number of participating countries has grown to 75, marking an 11% increase from 67 countries in the previous edition, with 18 nations participating for the first time. National companies represent 51% of the total, with 1,055 companies and brands among the exhibitors, highlighting 543 new participants at the event.

Badr Al Shahi, Director of Communication and Community Engagement, added: “The event will feature the fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition (ADIF), the Abu Dhabi Date Festival, and for the first time, the Global Food Dialogues and the inaugural Agricultural Investment Forum, along with an event focusing on alternative proteins and an Agricultural Technology Forum.”

During the week, the largest gathering of farmers, livestock breeders, and distinguished honey producers in the country will be hosted at the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence pavilion, celebrating the achievements and success stories of over 150 Emirati farmers.

Dr. Abdul Wahab Al Bakri Zayed, Secretary-General of the Khalifa International Date Palm Award and Agricultural Innovation, affiliated with the Zayed Heritage Foundation, stated:

“The 11th Abu Dhabi Date Exhibition will feature a quality participation from 20 countries that produce and process dates, showcasing 90 pavilions that represent top producers, exporters, and innovators. This exemplifies Abu Dhabi’s role as a global platform for cooperation and partnership in the palm cultivation and date industry.”
