DP World Pushes Forward with Development of New International Headquarters in Expo City Dubai

DP World has initiated the next phase of building its new global headquarters located at Expo City Dubai. This impressive eight-story structure is designed to symbolize innovation, sustainability, and the future of international trade.

A ceremony celebrating the completion of the foundational works was held on-site, with Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority, in attendance. The event was led by Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, group chairman and CEO of DP World, alongside Najeeb Mohammed AlAli, executive director of Expo City Dubai Authority, and Engineer Ahmed Al Khatib, chief development and delivery officer at Expo City Dubai. This gathering highlighted the robust partnership between the two organizations that reflect Dubai’s global ambitions and progressive vision.

Expected to be finished by 2027, the new headquarters will establish Expo City Dubai as a center for international connectivity and collaboration while setting benchmarks for sustainable workplace architecture in the region. A notable architectural element is its 10.45-meter cantilever, one of the largest in the area, which creates a dramatic “floating” appearance.

Encompassing 301,940 square feet, the building will accommodate 850 employees and host up to 2,000 visitors each day. The first two floors will be accessible to the public, featuring cafes, restaurants, and meeting areas designed to foster conversation and interaction. Additionally, the Flow Pavilion and fountain from Expo 2020 Dubai will remain a central feature of the complex, serving as a lasting emblem of DP World’s mission to facilitate trade flow, which attracted more than 1.2 million visitors during the Expo.

The design will also introduce the region’s first fully automated parking facility of this size, capable of handling nearly 1,000 vehicles, including 100 electric cars.

Reem Al Hashimy remarked, “Expo City Dubai was established as a platform for innovation, sustainability, and global connection—values that perfectly match DP World’s vision for the future of trade. We are thrilled to host their new headquarters here, which will act as a symbol of Dubai’s ongoing role as a driver of progress and collaboration on a global scale.”

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem stated, “This construction milestone at Expo City signifies more than just progress on a new building; it marks the start of DP World’s next evolution. Our headquarters will be a venue where technology, sustainability, and talent converge to redefine the future of trade. Just as Dubai has continuously reinvented itself, DP World is also evolving beyond traditional ports to provide smarter, greener, and more resilient supply chains for our customers and communities around the world.”
