Steps are underway to transition GITEX GLOBAL and Expand North Star to Expo City Dubai in 2026.
This international tech exhibition is scheduled for December 7-11, 2026, ushering in a new phase in its 45-year history.
Attendees can look forward to experiencing the world’s first and largest “TechCation” integration at the event, blending technology with lifestyle through citywide activities.
This shift is part of efforts to fulfill the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, aiming to establish Dubai among the top three urban economies globally.
For several years, GITEX GLOBAL has taken place annually at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), whereas Expand North Star has been hosted at Dubai Harbour.
Transforming GITEX Global
The shift of GITEX to December aligns with Dubai’s peak tourism period, providing international executives and investors a chance to engage with the local business climate while enjoying cultural activities.
GITEX TechCation will extend beyond traditional exhibition spaces, transforming Dubai into a connected hub of technology, commerce, and lifestyle.
The 2026 iteration, known as GITEX 5.0, will occur at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City, which is currently undergoing a $2.7 billion expansion to become the largest purpose-built indoor venue for events in the region.
This revamped location will offer the necessary scale and infrastructure for GITEX to explore new realms in global technology and AI-centered economies.
The event will commence on December 7, 2026, with the new GITEX Scale Summit, a dedicated day focused on strategic discussions among global leaders regarding policies and prospects shaping AI-driven economies.
From December 8-11, the exhibition will showcase advancements in AI, quantum computing, biosciences, and advanced manufacturing.
GITEX Global and Expand North Star will converge at the newly developed site, forging a unified platform that connects startups, investors, policymakers, and tech enterprises.
GITEX collaborates with the Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism and various organizations in sectors such as sports, hospitality, eco-tourism, and wellness to design destination-oriented experiences for attendees.
This initiative is part of Dubai’s comprehensive strategy to boost global competitiveness, attract investment, and cultivate a knowledge-driven economy.
