The European Union has approved a new round of sanctions against Moscow, focusing on the shadow fleet of Russian oil tankers and imposing a ban on the import of liquefied natural gas.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen stated in a press release coinciding with the EU leaders’ meeting in Brussels, “This is a positive day for Europe and Ukraine.”
He further mentioned that the new sanctions will encompass comprehensive measures targeting oil and gas, the Russian shadow fleet, and the Russian financial sector.
Additionally, a new system will be implemented to restrict the movement of Russian diplomats within the 27-member EU.
