The President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, is hosting a two-day private meeting with representatives from the parties involved in the national unity government, as reported by the Sunday Times.
According to Bloomberg News today, the gathering aims to address issues that could significantly impact the country’s future.
The newspaper cited unnamed members from the ruling African National Congress as well as opposition parties, stating that the closed-door meeting is taking place in the Cradle of Humankind area, northwest of Johannesburg, starting today.
Additionally, the report mentioned that this meeting occurs amid growing speculation within the African National Congress about Ramaphosa potentially stepping down from government leadership early next year.
