Yesterday morning, the conference “Your Needs are a Trust” kicked off, organized by the Women’s Renaissance Association in Dubai – Al Khawaneej branch. This event is part of a humanitarian initiative launched by the branch, specifically aimed at the elderly population.

The conference aligns with national efforts to reinforce and protect the rights of senior citizens, highlighting the policies, legislation, and measures implemented by the state to ensure their wellbeing and provide them with a dignified life.

The topics discussed during the conference focused on raising community awareness regarding the rights and needs of the elderly, supporting families and caregivers, encouraging school and university students to engage positively with issues concerning seniors, and enhancing government and community partnerships to serve this demographic.

In this context, Fatima Ahmed Al Abdullah, director of the Women’s Renaissance Association branch in Al Khawaneej, stated that the “Your Needs are a Trust” conference reflects the association’s vision to promote the values of social responsibility and foster a culture of respect and generosity towards senior citizens, who serve as role models for younger generations and sources of wisdom and experience.

She emphasized that the conference symbolizes the association’s dedication to supporting the leadership’s commitment to empower seniors and ensure their wellbeing and quality of life, noting that this group deserves all the appreciation and care for their contributions and efforts that have aided the nation’s development.

The conference included a panel discussion led by Dr. Jassem Al Marzouqi, a psychological consultant at the Women’s Renaissance Association, featuring Dr. Ali Singal, health advisor to Dubai Police and leader of the “Dhar” project, along with Dr. Salwa Al Suwaidi, director of the Happiness Center for Senior Citizens in Dubai, researcher Dr. Hamda Al Jafla Al Mansouri, and Umair bin Umair Al Rumaithi, head of the services department at the Community Development Authority, and Amina Khalifa Al Mehairi.
