Four individuals lost their lives and three others sustained injuries in an air strike carried out by Israel last night in southern Lebanon.
According to local media reports today, the city of Nabatiyeh awoke to the shocking news of a horrific act committed by Israeli forces, resulting in the deaths of four young men from the area and injuring three others. The incident occurred when they were traveling in their vehicle on the Kafr Rumman road, following an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle.
The reports indicated that Nabatiyeh was preparing for the funeral of Hassan Hamid Gheith (a delivery worker), who had previously been killed in a prior strike on the Shoukin road. Additionally, the city was set to commemorate the anniversary of a tragic massacre, where 13 residents, including the mayor, Dr. Ahmad Kahil, were killed during the 66-day war, marking another grim day with the recent casualties.
The air assault resulted in the deaths of Mohammad Al-Jawad Mustafa Jaber (brother of the martyr Ragheb Jaber, who was also killed in the Nabatiyeh massacre during the 66-day conflict), Abdullah Ghaleb Kahil, Muhammad Abbas Kahil, and Hadi Mustafa Hamid (who was injured). Furthermore, two other individuals on a motorcycle were injured when they unexpectedly passed through the area at the time of the attack.
The strike caused the targeted vehicle to catch fire and broke the windows of numerous homes in the Doha neighborhood, a predominantly residential area.
Despite a ceasefire agreement implemented on November 27, Israel continues to conduct airstrikes in southern and eastern Lebanon and in the southern suburbs of Beirut. Israeli forces remain stationed in five locations within southern Lebanon.
