Yesterday, the Supreme Committee for Emergency Management, Crises, and Disasters in Dubai convened under the leadership of Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The meeting focused on assessing the emirate’s readiness and strategic plans to enhance operational and institutional preparedness, ensuring a continued efficient response system across various sectors.
During the meeting held at Emirates Towers, updates on emergency and crisis plans were discussed, alongside the level of coordination among relevant agencies in the emirate. The discussion also addressed the readiness of critical sectors to manage various potential scenarios, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading global city in readiness, resilience, and institutional sustainability.
His Highness emphasized that Dubai’s preparedness is not solely measured by its response capability but also by its ability to predict and preempt risks through comprehensive planning, qualified personnel, and effective institutional coordination, making sustainability a shared responsibility.
He further directed ongoing efforts to enhance workforce capabilities, intensify practical and field training, and improve risk analysis and prediction systems to ensure sustained readiness and elevate response efficiency at both operational and strategic levels.
The committee underscored the significance of strengthening collaboration between government entities, the private sector, and civil society to ensure the highest levels of preparedness and rapid response. It emphasized the necessity to activate field leadership systems and enhance the technological and informational infrastructure that supports prompt and accurate decision-making in various emergency situations.
