Bupa CareConnect’s CEO Discusses Creating a Patient-Focused, Integrated Healthcare System

Bupa CareConnect, the healthcare division of Bupa Arabia, utilized its Platinum Sponsorship at the Global Health Exhibition 2025 to highlight its growing influence in the transformation of healthcare in Saudi Arabia. The company’s presence at the event aimed to showcase how a digital innovation-driven, patient-centered ecosystem can speed up the objectives outlined in Vision 2030. Through its various initiatives, Bupa CareConnect is continually changing the landscape of healthcare delivery by integrating digital, home, and clinical services into a cohesive, data-oriented experience that improves access, efficiency, and overall well-being across the nation.

Mohamed El Missaoui, CEO of Bupa CareConnect, stated, “Our goal this year is to illustrate our efforts in creating a fully interconnected healthcare ecosystem that integrates all medical services into a singular digital platform focused on the patient.”

The exhibition, one of the largest healthcare gatherings in the Middle East, offered Bupa CareConnect the chance to directly interact with national and international leaders, specialists, and decision-makers. “This event also enables us to connect with key figures in the healthcare industry, showcasing our digital transformation and medical innovation towards achieving a more efficient, sustainable, and patient-focused healthcare system as envisioned in Vision 2030,” El Missaoui added.

Strengthening a Digital-First, Integrated Approach

Bupa CareConnect’s involvement in Global Health emphasized its commitment to being a leading partner in the future of Saudi Arabia’s healthcare. “Our principal aim is to strengthen Bupa CareConnect’s stance as a crucial ally in shaping the healthcare landscape in Saudi Arabia,” explained El Missaoui. “We are committed to evolving into a fully integrated healthcare ecosystem that provides both digital and in-person medical services.”

To achieve this, the company seeks to enhance cooperation with government and private entities, expand the network of Bupa Clinics at client sites, and promote Bupa CareConnect—a model that fuses cutting-edge technology with compassionate care to offer a streamlined and effective healthcare experience.

At the heart of this vision is Bupa CareConnect’s consolidated digital framework, which links every phase of the healthcare journey—ranging from consultations to treatment and recovery—while simplifying administrative processes. The platform has facilitated over 400,000 digital consultations through its 24/7 virtual clinic, manned by licensed healthcare providers offering immediate consultations and digital prescriptions.

Complementary offerings such as home care, laboratory services, vaccinations, medication renewals, and home delivery of medications further enhance convenience and continuity of care. A dedicated medical and technical team employs artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to effectively manage chronic conditions, thus improving health outcomes and quality of life for members.

Supporting Vision 2030’s Health Sector Goals

El Missaoui reiterated that Bupa CareConnect’s approach aligns with the Health Sector Transformation Program under Vision 2030. “The company embodies these goals through a digitally integrated model that consolidates healthcare services, improving operational efficiency and promoting better health outcomes,” he elaborated.

By investing in telehealth, digital clinics, and AI-driven predictive care, Bupa CareConnect is contributing to the transition of the national healthcare system from reactive measures to proactive prevention. This initiative supports the Kingdom’s broader focus on accessibility, sustainability, and data-informed health management.

The company’s exhibit at Global Health 2025 showcased these principles in action, allowing attendees to explore innovations such as the Digital Clinic for round-the-clock consultations with prompt prescription deliveries; Bupa @Home, which provides medical services in homes across ten cities—twice the number of its closest competitor; and Bupa Clinics at client locations, delivering comprehensive healthcare solutions directly to workplaces.

Recently launched physical centers in Riyadh and Jeddah, equipped with MRI facilities, laboratory services, physiotherapy, and pharmacies, exemplify how Bupa CareConnect unifies digital, home, and in-person care into a singular connected experience.

Strategic partnerships play a crucial role in Bupa CareConnect’s expansion. The organization aims to finalize new collaboration agreements with prominent national institutions during Global Health 2025, building on existing partnerships with the Public Investment Fund (PIF), SABIC, National Housing Company (NHC), Savola Group, Alinma Bank, and the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD).

These collaborations facilitate the establishment of Bupa Clinics at client locations, enabling employers to offer comprehensive medical services on-site—including general healthcare, physiotherapy, occupational health, and wellness initiatives—thereby enhancing employee well-being. “Through this effort, Bupa CareConnect aspires to bring healthcare closer to individuals by making it directly available in their workplaces,” noted El Missaoui. “We also aim to foster a corporate culture that prioritizes employee health and wellness, in alignment with the Quality of Life Program under Vision 2030.”

The company’s digital transformation strategy is further reinforced through these alliances, integrating on-site and virtual clinics into a unified system. “This approach extends Bupa CareConnect’s commitment to accessibility in healthcare, both in workplaces and homes, aiding companies in nurturing healthier and more productive work environments,” commented El Missaoui.

Bupa CareConnect’s future plans encompass expanding its presence, both physically and digitally, across the Kingdom. The first physical CareConnect clinic in Riyadh is set to open in 2025, with additional centers planned in major urban areas. The company aims to double its clinic network by 2026 and introduce new AI-driven diagnostic tools for chronic disease management and patient follow-up.

This strategy is already yielding significant results, with more than 1.2 million members accessing Bupa CareConnect’s services in 2024 alone, which includes over 400,000 virtual consultations. Its integrated chronic care programs address conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, asthma, and thyroid disorders, supported by ongoing digital monitoring and personalized treatment strategies. Additional services like home diagnostics, medication delivery, and international consultations ensure seamless care for patients, regardless of their location.
