Dulquer Salmaan Battles His Mentor in New ‘Kaantha’ Trailer

Dulquer Salmaan, known for his impressive performances in films like Charlie and Sita Ramam, is back in the spotlight with his latest project, Kaantha. Following the success of his previous film, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, Dulquer is set to showcase yet another intriguing narrative that promises to captivate audiences.

The official trailer for Kaantha was released on November 6, 2025, in both Tamil and Telugu. Running for three minutes, it introduces Dulquer in the role of ‘Chandran’, alongside Samuthirakani, who plays ‘Ayya’. The trailer hints at a gripping story focused on the conflict between Chandran and Ayya, exploring themes of power, fame, and ego.

Kaantha tells the story of Chandran, who gains fame under Ayya’s mentorship. However, as his star rises and his ego inflates, their relationship deteriorates. What begins as admiration turns into rivalry when Chandran rebrands a female-centric project from Shaantha to Kaantha, causing tension and leading to dramatic confrontations.

Initially slated for a September 2025 release, Kaantha’s premiere was postponed due to the phenomenal success of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, which became the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever. The film, produced by Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati under Wayfarer Films, is now set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025, and will be available in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Following the trailer release, fans expressed their enthusiasm online. Many praised Dulquer’s unique approach to filmmaking, while others emphasized his stature as an actor beyond mere superstardom. Comments highlighted the excitement surrounding the film and its portrayal of complex character dynamics.

Dulquer Salmaan, also known as the son of legendary actor Mammootty, first captured audiences’ hearts with his debut in Second Show. Over the years, he has established himself as a versatile actor in the Indian film industry, gaining recognition for a variety of roles. Beyond acting, he took on the role of producer with his company, Wayfarer Films. In his personal life, Dulquer has been married to Amal Sufiya since 2011.
