Mehidy’s Brilliant Performance Leaves India on the Brink in Second Test

Vijayta Pandit recently recounted a heartbreaking aspect of her family history, revealing that her sister Sulakshana Pandit remains unaware of their sibling Sandhya Pandit’s murder, even ten years after the incident. In an interview with Lehren Retro, Vijayta expressed concern that the news would devastate Sulakshana, saying she would “die that very moment” if she were to find out.

Sandhya went missing in 2012, and nearly a month later, her partial skeleton was discovered in different locations. Vijayta described the grim discovery, stating that it was shocking for her family to learn that Sandhya had been murdered. They had searched extensively for her before finding the remains. “She was quite happy in her marriage… we never thought that all of a sudden something like this could happen,” Vijayta remarked.

Explaining the situation further, Vijayta shared that Sulakshana believes Sandhya is alive and living in Indore. She has maintained this illusion for several years, regularly asking Vijayta to send her love to Sandhya, who she thinks does not use a mobile phone. “I swear on God, I have to keep up with the act even to this day,” Vijayta stated.

In a separate development regarding Sandhya’s case, a 2021 report from The Indian Express indicated that her son, Raghuveer Singh, was acquitted of all murder charges due to insufficient evidence against him. The court noted that while he had a history of alcoholism and complications in his relationship with his mother, the prosecution failed to present concrete proof linking him to the crime.

Additionally, Sulakshana Pandit, who passed away recently at the age of 71, had a notable career as a singer and actress. Her family confirmed that she died after a prolonged illness. Her last rites were performed at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Mumbai. Throughout her career, she became known for her iconic songs alongside legendary artists like Kishore Kumar and Mohammed Rafi.

Sulakshana’s contributions to music include popular tracks such as “Bekrar Dil Tu Gaye Ja” and “Pardesiya Tere Desh Mein.” She also collaborated with Lata Mangeshkar on the duet “Saat Samundar Paar.” Sulakshana began her film career in 1975, starring in the movie Uljhan alongside Sanjeev Kumar, and continued to appear in various films throughout the following decades, leaving a lasting legacy in the industry.
