According to reports, the film collected approximately ₹43 lakh on its second day, adding to a modest total of ₹73 lakh since its opening. On its first day, it managed to earn just ₹30 lakh, reflecting a lukewarm response from viewers. The film’s overall box office performance suggests that hitting the ₹1 crore milestone seems unlikely at this point.
Occupancy rates for “Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan” were quite low, with an average of only 15.25% across various showtimes. Morning screenings attracted a mere 7.52% of audience attendance, which showed slight improvement in the afternoon with 15.60%. Evening and night shows performed slightly better at 14.72% and 23.14%, respectively.
This film marks Shanaya Kapoor’s entry into Bollywood, despite an initial plan to debut with another project titled “Bedhadak,” which was ultimately shelved. The storyline centers on the emotional complexities of a romance between a visually impaired musician and a theater artist, adapted from Ruskin Bond’s short story, “The Eyes Have It.”
Directed by Santosh Singh, the film aims to explore themes of love and human connection, represented through its lead characters. Reviews have been less than favorable, with one critique from the Hindustan Times noting a lack of captivating elements that would typically engage the audience, describing the love story as lacking in passion and tension.
