Odia Music Icon Humane Sagar Passes Away at 36, Tributes Pour In

Popular Odia singer Humane Sagar has passed away at the age of 36, a tragic loss that has sent shockwaves through the music community. He died on November 17, 2025, after being hospitalized at AIIMS Bhubaneswar for three days due to severe health issues. Despite being placed on life support, his condition did not improve, leading to his untimely death.

Medical reports from Dr. Srikant Behera outlined the severity of Sagar’s health complications. He was diagnosed with multiple conditions, including bilateral pneumonia and acute chronic liver failure, among others, which ultimately led to multi-organ dysfunction syndrome. Despite the best efforts of an expertly trained medical team, Sagar did not respond to treatment and passed away late on that evening.

The news of Sagar’s passing prompted an outpouring of tributes from political leaders and fans alike. Odisha’s Chief Minister, Mohan Majhi, expressed his sorrow, describing Sagar’s death as an irreparable loss to the state’s music and cinema. He extended his condolences to the singer’s family and wished for peace for Sagar’s soul.

In a similar vein, Biju Janata Dal President Naveen Patnaik shared his condolences via social media, reflecting on the profound impact Sagar’s music had on listeners. He emphasized the enduring nature of the singer’s contributions to Odia music and offered prayers for his family’s comfort during this sorrowful time.

Many reflected on how Sagar’s music impacted their lives, with one fan reminiscing about college days made memorable by his songs. The sentiment was echoed throughout various comments, indicating the deep connection Sagar had with his audience.

Humane Sagar was born in Titilagarh, Bolangir, and rose to fame after winning Voice of Odisha Season 2 on Tarang TV in 2012. He made his playback debut in 2015 with the film Ishq Tu Hi Tu and quickly became one of Odisha’s most cherished singers. His ability to deliver soulful performances endeared him to many, solidifying his legacy in the region’s music scene. As tributes continue to pour in, it is clear that his music will live on in the hearts of his fans and the broader Odia community.
