Remembering Humane Sagar: A Tribute to the Talented Odia Singer

Humane Sagar, a prominent figure in the Odia music industry, passed away at the young age of 34, leaving fans and fellow artists in shock. His death occurred on November 17 after he spent weeks in critical care at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, struggling with multiple health complications.

Born on November 25, 1990, in Titilagarh, Odisha, Sagar’s musical roots ran deep within his family. With a grandfather who produced albums and parents who were singers, he was immersed in music from a young age. His breakthrough came in 2012 when he participated in “Voice of Odisha Season 2.” His natural talent quickly resonated with audiences, setting the stage for his future success.

Sagar’s career gained momentum after winning the reality show, paving the way for his playback debut in 2015 with the title track of the movie “Ishq Tu Hi Tu,” composed by Abhijit Majumdar. The song quickly became popular, launching him into the spotlight where his emotional ballads and heartfelt tracks found favor among listeners.

Throughout his career, Humane Sagar recorded over 150 film songs and around 200 album tracks. He became the voice behind many of the biggest hits in Odia cinema, particularly for celebrated actor Anubhav Mohanty. Despite the challenges he faced, including a brief involvement in politics with the Biju Janata Dal in 2019, his commitment to music remained unwavering.

His personal life was marked by both joy and hardship. In 2017, he married fellow singer Shriya Mishra, with whom he had a daughter. However, the marriage eventually ended in separation. Despite these personal challenges and the loss of his father, Sagar continued to release music that resonated with audiences, securing his place in the hearts of many.

Humane Sagar’s untimely passing leaves a significant void in the Odia music scene. His contributions to the industry during the 2010s and 2020s were profound, making him more than just a playback singer; he became a key part of the cultural fabric of Odia cinema.
