Ranveer Singh Aims to Showcase Indian Cinema Globally with ‘Dhurandhar’

Actor Ranveer Singh recently expressed his excitement about his upcoming film “Dhurandhar,” a project aimed at showcasing Indian cinema on a global stage. During the trailer launch event, he emphasized the film’s ambition to meet international standards in storytelling and production.

“Dhurandhar” is an espionage thriller directed, written, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, known for the success of “Uri: The Surgical Strike.” The film draws inspiration from true events and covert operations, setting the stage for a riveting narrative.

Singh described the trailer as “insane” and expressed pride in participating in a film that aspires to elevate India’s presence in global cinema. He believes this is a pivotal moment for Indian filmmaking, indicating a desire to compete with internationally acclaimed films.

According to Singh, the story combines complexity with high technical execution, praising the director of photography for creating visuals that rival top global films. Aditya Dhar reiterated his commitment to producing films that represent India globally, seeing “Dhurandhar” as a significant step in that direction.

Dhar believes that language should not limit Indian cinema’s potential, comparing his aspirations to films like South Korea’s “Parasite” and China’s “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.” His goal is for Indian films to be recognized not just as arthouse cinema but as broadly entertaining works.

Singh expressed hope that “Dhurandhar” would set a new standard for cinematic excellence, positioning it alongside global hits like “Sicario” and “Zero Dark Thirty.” He reaffirmed Hindi cinema’s pride in representing India on an international platform.

The film features a diverse ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal, among others. Rampal, playing the film’s antagonist, labeled the project as ambitious and emphasized the team’s commitment to excellence.

Actor Madhavan, portraying National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, spoke about the rigorous preparation for his role, noting a transformative experience during the look tests that heightened the film’s authenticity. He feels privileged to contribute to such a significant project.

Young actress Sara Arjun expressed gratitude for being selected from over 1300 audition participants, viewing her involvement as a dream come true. Similarly, Rakesh Bedi remarked on infusing humor into his character, despite the film’s intense themes, highlighting the collaborative spirit present during production.

Director Aditya Dhar thanked the entire crew for their dedication and hard work over the film’s year-and-a-half production span, noting the pure intent and commitment from everyone involved.

“Dhurandhar,” produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, is set to hit theaters on December 5. The film promises to be a groundbreaking entry in the Indian film industry, aiming for recognition and esteem on a worldwide scale.
