Northern Warriors Triumph Over Gladiators in Thrilling Abu Dhabi T10

The Northern Warriors recorded a convincing 6-wicket victory over the Deccan Gladiators in the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10, successfully chasing down a target of 88 runs with 10 balls remaining. After a challenging start to the tournament with only one win in their first three matches, the Warriors’ top order provided the much-needed boost.

On the same day, the Vista Riders narrowly defeated the Aspin Stallions by six runs, finishing their innings at 84/9, while Quetta Qavalary triumphed over the UAE Bulls with a score of 111/1, winning by nine wickets.

In the match between the Warriors and Gladiators, the latter batted first but suffered an early setback as Trent Boult took two wickets in consecutive balls, dismissing Nicholas Pooran and David Wiese. Tom Kohler-Cadmore stood firm, scoring 58 runs off just 31 balls, and his aggressive play included seven boundaries and two sixes. He helped stabilize the innings and brought the score to 40/2 by the end of the fourth over. Unfortunately for the Gladiators, Boult’s efforts did not end there; he took a brilliant one-handed catch to dismiss Marcus Stoinis and disrupt the rhythm.

Kohler-Cadmore continued to score despite the loss of wickets at the other end, where Andre Russell, Laurie Evans, and Jordan Thompson fell for low scores. Kohler-Cadmore eventually exited the game after hitting two sixes in the final over, resulting in the Gladiators finishing their innings at 87/7.

In response, the Northern Warriors set a rapid pace, primarily driven by Johnson Charles, who scored 41 runs off 17 balls, mixing four fours and three sixes. The Warriors reached 43 runs without loss in just two overs before Charles was dismissed by Noor Ahmad. Subsequent wickets threatened their momentum as Muhammad Jawadullah claimed two crucial wickets, removing Hazratullah Zazai and Shimron Hetmyer and leaving the score at 60/3 after five overs.

Despite losing Dinesh Chandimal to Noor Ahmad, the Warriors remained on track for the modest target. Thisara Perera played a stabilizing role, and Azmatullah Omarzai ultimately sealed the victory. He struck boundaries off Andre Russell and Marcus Stoinis, helping the Warriors complete the chase in just 8.2 overs, marking a significant rebound for the reigning champions against the Gladiators.
