Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt is currently facing serious allegations following the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against him in Udaipur. The complaint pertains to a purported fraud involving a film project and is being investigated by local authorities at the Bhupalpura police station.
The case has been brought forward by Dr. Ajay Murdia, who claims to have had a prior agreement with Bhatt’s production company. According to police statements, Murdia alleges he paid a substantial amount for the production of several films in memory of his late wife. However, he contends that only two films were made, failing to fulfill the terms of their contract, and that the project with the highest budget never commenced. The investigation is ongoing, and police have assured that appropriate actions will be taken.
In response to these allegations, Vikram Bhatt has strenuously denied any wrongdoing, suggesting that the police may be misled. He has publicly stated that he has not received any official notice or communication regarding the claims made against him. Bhatt expressed skepticism about the allegations, particularly concerning the cited amount of ₹30 crores, implying that the claims lack substantial evidence and possibly could be fabricated.
Furthermore, Bhatt highlighted his collaborative history with the complainant, questioning the motivation behind the accusations. He noted that if Murdia had truly been wronged, it would be irrational for him to continue working together on additional projects. The filmmaker emphasized that he possesses documentation to support his position, including communications and contracts.
Vikram Bhatt has a long-standing career in the Indian film industry, having started as an assistant to director Mukul Anand in his teenage years. He made his directorial debut with “Madhosh” in 1998 and is particularly renowned for his thrillers, such as “Ghulam,” as well as his horror films, including the “Raaz” and “1920” series.
His latest project, “Tumko Meri Kasam,” was produced by Dr. Ajay Murdia and is a biopic about the founder of Indira IVF, further complicating the recent allegations. As the situation develops, both Bhatt and the authorities are expected to provide further insights.
