Aamir Khan Reflects on His Stardom Journey: Breaking All the Rules

Aamir Khan, a prominent figure in Indian cinema, recently discussed his unexpected rise to stardom during a session at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Known for his meticulous approach to filmmaking, Khan reflected on his career trajectory and the unconventional choices he made along the way.

The actor revealed his surprise at achieving fame, stating, “I don’t know how I became a star. By all logic, I should not have been a star. I broke all the rules and I made everything impractical.” This sentiment highlights his gratitude for the respect and success he has garnered, despite the unconventional paths he took in his career.

Khan also shared insights into his filmmaking decisions, emphasizing his reluctance to conform to typical success formulas. He mentioned that even during the release of films like “Sarfarosh” and “Lagaan,” he was uncertain about their reception. “I don’t want to do the same thing again and again,” he explained, underscoring his commitment to choosing diverse scripts that resonate with him personally.

His most recent project, “Sitaare Zameen Par,” serves as a spiritual sequel to his acclaimed 2007 film, “Taare Zameen Par.” Released on June 20, the film features Genelia D’Souza in a significant role. This project continues Khan’s tradition of exploring themes that are meaningful to him and pushing the boundaries of conventional storytelling in Bollywood.
